Jinx the Cat (born September 2018) or simple known Jinx, is known for her distinctive large pupils due to birth defects, gained online fame after her owner began sharing content about her on Instagram in october 2018. Her popularity expanded to TikTok in 2019 and Twitter in 2021.
Early life
On october 2018, when jinx was only three or four weeks old and just days before jinx owner 16th birthday, heard a loud crying meow sound from a nearby field on the backyard. Mia followed the sound and discovered a small, shivering kitten hidden in the grass. With no sign of a mother cat nearby, Mia realized the kitten had been abandoned and was in need of help. Mia named the black kitten Jinx[1]. Mia's family wrapped Jinx in a cozy blanket and providing her with formula. Her family noticed some unusual traits, including enlarged eyes. Concerned, they took her to the vet, who confirmed her good health[2].
Social Media Presences
A friend of mia suggested her to create a instagram account for jinx, where she can write a diary about her. She continued posting of her kitten on Instagram. On 25 January 2019, her post started to pick up some engagement, the post reached over 26,000 likes over the course of 5 years[3]. On 18 June 2019, she started to post on TikTok and went viral 2 months later on 17 August 2019[4] that earned 1.5M views and 230K likes in three years. Two years later jinx created a account on twitterand got over 4,200 likes on her first tweet[5]. As her popularity grows, on 12 April 2022, her post got more engagement than usual[6], earning roughly 354,900 likes in five days.

Jschlatt, a minecraft youtuber at that time, find the cat funny and sent the owner a free keychain plushie. On 22 January 2022, The owner tweeted jinx with jsclatt plushie on it which was quickly deleted after getting bullied by jschlatt haters[footnotes 1]
Mayor of Hell
On 9 April 2022, Jinx's owner purchased two square feet of land in Scotland, granting Jinx the title of 'Lady of Scotland' and planted a tree there[7]. Curious about further titles, they explored the idea of making Jinx a mayor. Upon learning about Hell, Michigan's 'mayor for a day' program, they contacted the town and secured Jinx's mayoral position for $100[8]. On April 24, Jinx began her mayoral duties, receiving calls from Hell residents seeking her proclamations. Notably, she declared April 24 as 'National Jinx Day' and proposed initiatives such as a Jinx mural per mile and a ban on eggs, which is a references of jinx hissing at egg[9].
Present Day
All four jinx social media account has been inactive since mid 2022. According to a reddit user who ran the official jinx discord server, said mia is taking indefinite hiatus to focus on her university and other personal stuff in her life[10].
