The Manual of Style is the go-to guide for all Catpedia articles and pages, this short and understandble guide will highlight the important element in editing. Read this if you are new to catpedia or unsure about article structure and writing.

Article title[edit source]

  • Title should be named after the real cats name.
  • First letter should be always capitalized.

Writing[edit source]

  • Using AI to write an article for you is NOT allowed.
  • When editing/creating page, use American English language.
  • Every measurement must be scaled on metric measurements first then imperial.
  • Remember the existence of punctuation, they are your best friends when making articles. (period, comma, apostrophe, quotation, question, exclamation, brackets, braces, parenthesis, dash, hyphen, ellipsis, colon, semicolon.)
  • When referring another article, only link it once
  • Use they/them pronouns if you do not know the gender of the cat you are writing about.
  • When using dates in text, use the DD/MM/YYYY format.

Uploading Files[edit source]

  • Image infobox need to be same name as the article name. (e.g. Milly page should be Milly.png)
  • Unless the low quality was intended, images has to be high resolution.
  • When uploading new version of the same file, use "upload new version" instead of uploading a new file.
